Recruiting Associate (Client Services)

Experience Level: Junior

GLG is seeking an Associate to support GLG’s Private Equity business in Europe. As part of the wider PE team based in London.  The Associate will be responsible for recruiting experts for GLG Client projects, across a range of industry sectors, to participate in 1:1 telephone consultations, private meetings and for other short term, ad-hoc consulting projects.

 

Associates help to drive GLG’s business model and add value to its client base through close coordination with client-facing members of the team to fulfil Clients’ needs for expert’s insights. The Associate’s primary role is focused on recruiting experts outside the GLG Network in a timely manner, who fit the client’s learning needs. This role involves efficient research, outreach and interaction with a variety of experts, and it is not client facing.

 

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Individuals in this role will be responsible for identifying, contacting and pitching to potential new experts, using effective sales and recruiting techniques in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
  • Ideal candidates have a high degree of confidence and are highly motivated to exceed personal weekly, monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Partner with and fulfil time-sensitive recruiting project requests in collaboration with client-facing team members.
  • Exhibit concise communication internally and externally, including a confident phone presence.
  • Learn to leverage GLG’s platform and network to identify and recruit world-class experts from across hundreds of sectors & industries.
  • Collaborate closely with client-facing team members to expand the search and scope of recruiting populations and drive successful client outcomes.

 

An ideal candidate will have the following:

 

  • High motivation to exceed personal weekly, monthly, and quarterly commercial targets
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, team environment where we strive to provide an excellent experience for experts and clients consistently
  • Confidence in speaking on the phone daily with potential recruits, making outbound cold calls when needed and various other outreach methods
  • Ability to professionally manage resistance and consistently convert recruits
  • Ability to quickly digest and implement feedback and coaching
  • Polished and persuasive verbal and written communication
  • Successful track record managing multiple, simultaneous complex tasks and prioritising time either during education or within a professional environment
  • Full business proficiency in English and French or Italian; another modern European language would be a bonus

 

Please note, if invited to interview that you will be expected to understand GLG, our product offerings, as well as the role responsibilities. During the interview process, you will also be asked about current trends within Private Equity, so please ensure you have done some research on current news/trends and affairs within this area, so you can discuss these with the interviewer.

 


Career progression:

After achieving specific quantitative and qualitative goals (conversion of recruits, consistent high - quality end-to-end delivery), Associates typically progress onto a Senior Associate role. This is a client-facing role, where expectations include end-to-end project delivery, including recruiting new experts, building relationships with clients and learning about GLG’s broader product offering.
